The House salary bill - as big grab bill as the law it proposes to supersede - is not to meet with favor in the Senate, that is if the Cominittee on Civil Service and Eetrenchnieut representa the views of that body. Mr. Wiight froiu that committee, on Friday last reported a substituto which fixes the salaries of meuibers of Congiess, offieers and emjloyes at the old rate9, and of heada of dejartruents at $8,000, lea ving; the aalary of the President - the champion grabber - md of tho judges of the Supronie Court at the figures fixed by the MLw of Maich ast. And this disagreeruent of the two houses is just the vy to perpetúate the swindle and Stoal.
