Priday, December 19, 18";!. Board met pursuant to adjournment. Called to order by the chair. Roll called - quorum present. Mr. Wynkup moved that tho motioii passed yesterday, allowing Mr. Holliday five dollars for rent of house, be reconsidered, whioh motion did not prevaü. Mr. Wynkup moved that the resolution offerer by Mr. Wibey yesterday be taken from the table. Agreed to. On motion of Mr. Wynkup, the reso lution -was then adopted. Mr. Olcott offered the following, which wos, on motion, adopted ; Resolved, Tthat the clerk be instructed to inake out a bilí against the city of Ann Arbor for iuel te., uscd by them for city purposes, and collect the same. Mr. Olcott moved that John H. Daqis be allowed two dollars per day for three days' service as janitor of this Board Carried. 112 John H. Davia, janitor, 6 00 Mr. Pierce offered the following resolution. Rvsohed, That the Prosecuting Attorney be directed to investígate tho matter of a oertain county order, delivered to one C. Joslin, Dec. 30, 1860, by the County Clerk, John J. Robison - said order was drawn in favor of one D. A Wise, dated Oot. 9th 1860, for the sum of 107.86 - and if said Prosecuting Attorney shall find sufficient evidence to warrant the collection of said order of said C. Joslin, or any other party or parties, to oolleot the same. Adopted. Mr. Pierce offered the foïlowing : Resolved, That the Prosecuting Attorney be and is hereby directed to prosecute oue Patrick Wall, formerly a Supervisor of the township of Northfield, for wilful neglect of the duties of nis office as Supervisor of said township. Provided, That on an examiuation of this case there shall be a fair prospect of coliecting penalties or damagus for such neglect of duties. Adopted, by yeas and nays as follows : Yeai - Messrs. Burch, Eisele, Galpir, Jones, Krapf, Noyes, Olcott, Pierce, Eowe, Rhodes, Shurtleff. Tuomv. Wilsev. Warner, and the Chairman - 15 Naya. MeRsrs. Annabil, Haire, Kress, Renwick, Sage, Wynkup and Webb - 7. Mr. Noyes moved that the report of the County Superintendents of the poor be taken from the table. Agreed to. Mr. Noyes moved that the report be adopted, which motion prevailed, by yeas 21, naya none, the yeas and nays having been called for. Mr. Noyes moved to take from the table the report of the Committee to settle with the County Superintendents of the Poor. Carried. Mr. Noyes moved that the report be filed with the clerk, and that that part of it pertaining to the supplies f uruished the County Housa and of whom purohased, be spread upon the Journal, which motion pievailed, by yeas and n&ys as follows : Yeas - Messrs. Annabil, Burch, Eisele, Jones, Krapf, Kress, Noyes, Olcott, Pierce Eowe, Rhodes, Tuorny, Wynkup, Wilsey, and the Chairman - 15. Nays- Messrs. Haire, Eenwick, Sage, Webb, and Warner - 5. Mr. Webb offered the following : Resolved, Tbat in as much as the action of tliis Board in regard to the report of the Superintendents of the Poor of Washteiuiw Couuty, having gone abroad, and said action having created distrust and suspiciou in the minds of the people as to the honesty, integrity and business cüaracter ot said Superintendente whüe actinjj in their official capaoity, and in consequence pf said action haviug placed them in au unjuat and very objectionable position for any honorable man or body of men to be placed, therefore it is but doing justice to said Superintendents, to ourselves, andto the people of Washtenaw county, that this Board take some action that will exonérate said Superintemients, and undeceive the people of said county as to the honor, integrity au 1 business character of said Superintendents. At'ter all investigations into the business transactions of said Superintnds we fiud no objection to vheir report, beitig a fair, open statement of facts, and done in a fair, opfin bnsiness-liko marnier, and in all we can see and learn we see no cause why any man. can complain. Xneretore, be it. liesolveil, That this Board tender their thanks to said Board of Superiutendents for the fuithful and just inanner they have held the trust placed in their hands, and the gentleraanly and frank manner that they have answered all inquines in regard to their business with said count.y. More espeoiaüy should this rote of thanks bo tendered for the reason that an old, tried aud honest worker for Washtenaw County, as Superintendent of the Poor, h is by the aotion of this Board tirea trom lus omcial duties. A faithful worker always should recoive approbation instead of coudemnation. Mr. Noyes moved to lay the resolutions upon the table, whioh motion dld not prevail, hy yeas and nays as follows : Yeim- Messrs. Eisele, Krapf, Noyes, Olcott, Pierce, Rhodes.Shurtloff, Wilsey, and the Chairman - 9. Nays- Messrs. Annabil, Buroh, Haire, Jones, Kress, Remvick, Rowe, Sage. Tuomy, Wynkup, Webb and Warner - 12. Mr. Noyes offered the foüowiug as a substituto, whioh was, on motiou, adopted: Rnolved, That the thanks of tbis Board are hereby tendered to the several officers of Washtenaw County for the efficiënt inanner in which thev have performed their duties diiring the year. Mr. Shurtleff moved that the vote upon the adoption of the resolution offered by Mr. Pierce in relation to the prosecution of Mr. P.
