The Washington correspondent of the Boston Qlobe says : E. B. Ward, of Michigan, who has heretoforo borno a prominent part in socuring the election of Senator Chandler, stated the other day that he thought Chandler had outlived his usefulness, and it is questionable whether he can manage Micliigan either for Mr. Conklingor himself. Daniel McLaren has resigned the Presidency of the Cincinnuti, Hamilton & Dayton Kailroad, to give, it is thought, undivided attention to other of his railroad interests in another part of Ohio. Ho came to the road tvventy-five years ago as mastor inechanic, was Superintendent fifteen, and President two years. The resignation takes affect April 30th. F. W. Short, for many yeara Secretary and Treasurer is his probable successor.
