Foraierly there was no quainter, eleopier, more old-fashioned city on this continent than St. Augustine, Florida. The chances that it would ever awaken from its slumbcra were too remote for calculation. The inhabitants appeared to be contented and assuredly tho gratified tourist was with the indolent, picturesque old town. Florida has bcoonie, howover, a great resort for Northern invalids, and the unavoidable Yankee has piospected and settled in St. Augnstine, and the old landmarks are one by one vanishing. New Yorkers are building fine housee thure, with modern green shutters, bright roofs, and plate glass. Many of these bolong to wealthy men like Henry Ball, of Eall & Black, and Mr. Aspinwall, and cost over !?2,000. St. Augustine, therefore, will soon be entirely changed, and will be a i'ashyanable resort from tho bleakness of Northern winters.
