St. Louis, May 18.- Judge MoClnre, Chief Judge of Arkansas, and Col. Oliver, Sherifi' of Pulaski county, havo &rrived here en route to Washington. Judge MoCluro saya all the statements upon which Attorney General Williams predicted his opinión in the BaxterBrooks case are l'alse from beginning to end, and that the courts of the State, including the Supreine Court, havo never had under adjudication the cases erroneously made up by Williams. With regard to the present condition of affairs at Little Hoek he said the situation reniained unchanged ; that Brooks would never surrender to Baxter's forces, but only to the Federal authorities ; that Brooks would continue to bo rocognized as the lawful Governor by the 8tate auditor, treasurer, attorney general and in fact by all the executive officers, except Johnson, the Secretary of State, and that if Mr. Williams can díctate who is governor against all the executive officers and against the decisión of court, then there is no longer a Republican forin of government in Arkansas. The whole question wili be brought before Congress.
