The greater portion of choice lots were Western cattle. State lots were mostly inferior and were oonsequently off, being neither good for stockers nor beef. The best sales aoted, either on Sunday or Monday, was a lot oi 10 choice shipping steers at $ü 2-i. Hogs went througb, except the few bought West by local packers. Sheep were ofi' at least a half. One hundred choice shippers, averagmg 98 lbs, sold at f u' 90 per cwt. CATTLE. There was a large number of good to choice Western cattle iu to-day, and these generally brought last week's prices, The supply of coinmou State cattle was also better, and for this grade there were few buyers and prices a. trifle easier - perbaps au 1-8 c or a 1-4 c. Good heavy stockers were iu good demand for the eastern market for short feeders. Corrected quotations are about as follows : Choice beeves, young, large, well fattened, weighing from 1,200 to 1,400 lbs. %: 00 o 6 35 Good butchers' steers and heifers, averaging 1,000 to 1,100 lbs., 4 00 a ó 00 Working cattle, well f atteïied, averagmg 1,000 to 1..300 lbs., 4 00 5 00 Cows, commou to choice, 4 00 a 5 50 Common stock, medium steers, and fair to extra cowi, in decent flesh, 800 to 1,000 lbs., i 00 o 4 75 SHEEP. The market is off, buyers taking hold sparingly. The best bid heard at 10 a. m. for one small lot of 2ö, averaging about 98 lbs each, was 5c ; later a sm.ill lot of 3.3, weighing about 87 lbs, was offerod at 6 l-2c, and 6c was bid.
