PoiiTsnoxjTH, N. H., July 15. - The liore end of the telegraph cable was sucessfully landed from the steamer Amjassador at Rye Beach at three o'clock tiis morning. The crew and electricians were assisted by many of the townsmen nd a number of lady and gentlemen isitors in manning the drag ropeto haul he cable ashore. At six o'clock the plice was cotnpleted and commuuication stablished with the steatner, lying about hree-quarters of a mile off shore. The nanager of the cable, oöicers of the teamer, Mayor Miller and other gentlemen breakf asted at Governor Straw's cotage. The Ambassador will commence aying the cable from Eye Beach to the Shoals about noon, and will probably omplete the work so as to sail east toight with the Faraday. The weather was fine, the sea smooth and everything 'avored the complete success attained, A salute of 100 guns was fired on the each and rockets and other fireworks were displayed during the landing, jruns and rockets were also fired from the teamer. A number of ladiesand gentlemen have gone on the steamer Ambassaor to witness the completion of the layng of the cable. Por originahty of thought and emphatc utterance in conuection with the Til;on-Beecher scandal commend us to a Chicago paper. The Post of that city ays; "It is true that the conviction of lenry Ward Beecher of SPrious wrong would be a blow struck not only at tbe oot of Plymouth Church, but at Christndom. It would cause wailing iu Heavn and inaugúrate a Pourth of July in heil."
