East Sagina w, July 19.- Goldsmith Maid, on the East Saginaw DrivingParl to day, trotted not only the three fastest heat on record, liut two heats, the slowest of which, was Letter tlian the best tiuie on record. The race was fora special purse of $,000 oflered liy the association, and divided as follows : to the flrst horse, $1,500 to the second, and $1,000 to the horse which beat the best time on record. Goldsmith Maid won three straight heats in t.li 3.4 2.16 1-2, and 2.1(i. The oi;ly contestant in tho race was Judge Fullerton. Both horses did splendid trotting t.hroughout. The only break iu the three heats was made by the Maid on the first quarterof the first heat, when she lost three or four lengths, Judge Fullerton leading to the home stretch, where he was collared and passed by the mare, who won by 3 lfingth. Judge Fullerton was beaten about two lengths the second and fout ;he third heat, but did some magnificent trotting notwithstanding. Fullertou was driven by Dan Mace and the Maid bv Budd Doble. Fullerton's time was 2.20 1-2, 2.18, and 2.18 3-4. The track was in splendid condition.and the weather all that could be desired. About 8,000 persons witnessed the performance. Between the heats of the great race a match was trotted by Ella Wriglit and John Howell, Jr., the tonner driven bj Doble and the latter by Mace. Ella Wright won the race in three straight heats in 2.29, 2.26, and 2.29 1-2. The race was a very good one. The track ia one mile and three feet in length.
