While our reporter was awaiting a verdict in the Grant parish trial, his attenion was called to the Judges' room, where sat Judges Wood aud iellogg, playing set-back euchre. The ives of eight white men were beiug alanced between life and death at hat very time in a neighboring jury room, as the Judge watched for " ace " and " right bower " to turn up. This is a fit commentary on the condition the )eople of Louisiana have been brought o, and no argument cuuld be more effecive. A man pretending to be Governor playa euchre with a Uuited States Judge waiting for a verdict of a jury, and eight men look thiough the bars of the parish jrison waiting for their liberty. Nero iddled while Romo was buruiug. Kelogg sprees while the people he claims o govern are robbed of their liberties and are threatoned with death ! Oh, ighteous Judge ! Oh, noble Governor !
