The following are the premiums offered at the firemen's tournament at Kalarua200 next week : Steamers - First premium, $125 ; seoond premium, $75 ; third premium, $50. The contest tor the above premiums to be settled by the awarding Committee, and in awarding the premiums they will consider the timo consumed in getting up steam, volume of water, and distance thrown through 100 f eet of hose. Hand-engines - First premium, f125; second premium, $75 ; third premium, f50. Machines will play through 100 feet of hose, horizontal throwing, using any sized nozzle they choose, and the diatance thrown to decide the prizes. Fifteen minutes will be allowed to set and make their play. AU engines will take suction from a reservoir. Hose Companies - First premium and State Champion Belt, f 125 ; second premium $100; third premium, $75. The test for the above prizea will be a run of 40 rods, and lay two lines of hose, of 100 feet each ; hose to be reeled on the cart in one continuous line, wlth all the couplings made, and to be laid as in fire practice ; attach to engine, with pipe on and ready for water ; each company to use their own method of laying hose. Sweepstakes for Hose Companies - Premiums, f 100. The contest to be a run of 40 rods and lay two linei of 50 feet each, and get first water from a hydrant. Hose to be reeled on the cart in one continuous line, and all couplings made. Each company to lay their hose to suit them8elvcs. There will also be a special prize of f 100 awarded to the best band of music present on the occasion. There will also be a display ef perpendicular throwing by the different stoamers and hand engines, together with the Holly "Water Works.
