He dresses in black. His clothos aro well made and fit him perfectly. His only jewelry consists of a plain gold watch, worth about tive hundred dollars, which he seldom disturba from its place in his pocket. He loathes unnecessary adornments. Three small, linen covered buttons appear on his shirt bosom. No watch chain is visible. He wears a black beaver hat, which weighs half a pound less than the heavy gray stovepipes fashion ordains shall be worn this summer. His hair of a reddish gray is neatly dressed at all times. His beard, which is more tin'ed with gray than his hair, is short and is trimmed regularly so as to be kept at the same length all the year round. Wliere a cumbersome mustaohe ought to be, a hair is never permitted to obtain more than a day's growth. He is of a slender, though compact physique.
