East Saginaw, September o. - Chas. Kipp, president of the State Agricultural Society, arrived last evening, and is active in pushing forward preparations for the State fair. It is important that articles and stock for exhibition should be shippcd on Friday or Saturday provious to the fair. The sheds for cattle are now completed, and are ampie, with 300 coinfortable stalls. The entries of thoroughbred cattlo give promise of a fine exhibition. Amóng others are animáis from the southern herds of Avery & Murphy, John P Sanborn, George F. Westell, of Port Huron, and A. S. Brooks, of Novi. The stalls for horses are also completed. There are 182 single stalls, fifty-eight doublé stalls, and the stables of the Drivïng Park Association are brought into requisition, affording sixty more doublé steills. The prospect is that every stall will bo needed. There are horse entries froiu Oakland, Genesee, Wayne, Ingham, Macomb, Sliiawassce and Saginaw counties. Dewey & Stewart, of Owosso, take ten stalls. Food and water for stock is amply provided for. The Holly water works are iutroduced the i'ull length of the grounds. One of the most interesting exhibitions will be tnade by the Flint and Pere Marquette Railway Company. Mr. Webber, of the law department, is collecting sppcimens for exhibition ot' the leading agricultural products from counties through which the road passes. The articles so collected are transported free of charge. The Saginaw and St. Louis Railway, of which the Hon. David H. Jerome is President, will run excursión trainsto St. Louis, of Mineral Spring notoriety. There are extensivo halls for farm implemeuts, machinery, carriages, manufactures, fine arts and fruits. The entries of fruits and farm products are very encouraging, especially of apples, peaches, pears, plums, grapes, white wheat and buttor. The committeo for providing entertainment and for decorating the halls will be very busy the coming week. The citizens of the Saginaws are bound to niake the fair a grand success. The Hon. George H. Jerome, State Fish Commissioner, of Niles, will have charge of the lish aquariums, and this new department promises to be a very attractive featuro. The Western Union Telegraph Company will put up an instrument in the secietary's office on the grounds.
