"Venus' Flower-Basket" is a description of the Glass Sponge, with a picture that is positively wonderíul in the delicacy of its exeeution. Mrs. Jiary Mapes Dodge has one of her charming little poems called " Coming," and C. P. Craucli contiïbutes soine coinic verses, illustrnted from liis own designs, making fun of the comot. There is also a poera by Helen Hunt. Miss Louisa M. Alcott has a story, and Mis. Abby Morton Diaz tells something more about tliose funny littlo " Jimmyjohns." Tnere is an interesting article on "Ice in India," and Wm. H. Rideing lias one of his admirable practical articlos called " üur Light-houses aud Light-ships," which is full of interesting pictures drawn by Moran, Perkins, Eunge, and other noted artista. The seriáis, " Fast Friends" by J T. Trowbridge, and " What Might Have Been Expected" by Frank R Stockton, are concluded. The number completes the volume. Davis, after Cabanal, is a striking portrait; On the Grand Canal is a Venetian scène; Rapids of the Au Sable, f uil-pages, by A. Parton, shows water and rocks and gorge; and then there are: Wild Flowers, by L. Bechsteiu ; Castle Wartburg, with twelve lesser views connected; The Ugly Beauty, by A. T.
