BoSTOSr, Sept. 29.- General Butler haa friven an explanation of his note to Gov. Kellogg, recently made public. He says ho was secured to appear before the Suprcrae Court to argHo against grantiug the petition of the McEnery party to have Kellogg prohibited trom taking possession of tho government, and to prohibit Judge Durell froin taking any further steps in the matter in hia court. The case was argued and decided before it got into Congress. When Congress had adjourned, Butler wrote a note to Kellogg asking for his fees and putting the value upon his services which he tliought they deserved. Kellogg wrote in reply saying it was all a personal matter of his own, that the expenses had beon vory heavy, and asking Butler if he would consider him in the matter, and iuclosing a check for $1,000, and that is all. Gov. Woodson has appointed twenty delegates at large and two from each Congressional District, to represent jMissouri in the oonveution to be held at Ljoui8ville, October 2d, to talk over the remoyal of the national, capital to the JMississippi Valley.
