With Henry Chamberlain as Governor of Michigan and Joseph M. Sterling as State Treasurer, there woiild be no evasive replies to legislativa inquines ooncerning the State surplus moueys- there would be no attempt to conoeai trom the people any information they desired. The people if they dusire that reuland subjtantial control oftheir own affiirs which 13 thbirs of right and which they ought never permit to be wrested from theui, owe it as a sacred duty to tbernselv'es to elect Messrs. Chamberlain and Sterling to the offices tor which they have been nominatcd. Those gentlemen would indignantly frown upon and frustrato any atteinpt to organize rings to run tbe State government. With them and such as they are in office there would be an end to ring rulo. - Frt Pre.
