A New Street Car
A citizen of Cincinnati has put upon the street8 of that towu a vehicle intended aud designed to supersede street ca-s. lt is abaut the size oí a common street car, and wül seat 16 p issengers. The wheelq are similar to those on carriages, but the axle i curved in suoh a uianner as to allow tbe floor of the car to be on a levei with the pavemeut. The driver sits ia front and uses an ordinary toot brake in place of those conitnon to street cars. The eutrance for the passengers is peculiar. The steps are parallel with the 8'de of the car, but the doorways, one on each side, are placed diagonally across the end. This arrangement is made to alloiv passengers to step directly into the car froru the siiewalk. It is said these cars cost less than others in use, require no track to be laid down, and, owing to the doublé actiou of the wheels, run as hghtly and easy as buggies of modern impioved patterns and cunstructiou. These cars, or vehicles uiay take ths place of onmibuses.
