Remember that John J. Robison, the Democratie candidato for Congress, is not a " bloated bond holder" or interested in the perpetuation of a financial system which gives the people a depreciated ourrency while the gold and silver goes to the favored fow. Remember that he is in favor of a free banking system, with a circulation interchangeable for gold and silver, and opposed to the continuance of the exclusive and monopoly features of the National Banks. Remember that he believes in a speedy return to specie payments, and is opposed to perpetual forced loans in the shape of a greenback currency, mere promises to pay, and with no date of payment named in the bond. Remsmber that he recognizos gold and silver coin as the. only constitutional currency, and that it is the duty of Congress to make greenbacks convertible into coin at the pleasure of the holder or withdraw them . from cireulation. Remember that he is opposed to continuing the taxation of the people to increase the price of manufactured fabrics of whatever name, and believes in every tub standing on its own bottom, that is in an unshaokled commeree, with the markets of thè world open both to producers and consumers. Remember that he is not a believer in centralization, but recognizes local and ïcdividual rights, the inherent and inlienable rights of the citizen. Remember these things and give him your votes. The Eepublicans of the Second Eepresentative District of this county have noininated George Eenvick, of Northfield. Mr. Eenwtck has been for several years Supervisor (and a very good one) of a Democratic'town, eleoted on a " People's Ticket," but acting, like all eandidates or officers so olected, with the Eepublioans. "We apprehend that he will not find itholiday business to run against (iEORGE SUTTON. The horror which the Courier has manifested for the Irish-Americans (a sort of Irishphobia) frightened the Eepublican Eepresentative Convention held at Dexter on Saturday last, and caused the shelving of the present member : and just because his name, it was Michael. No MlKES or MlOKS on the Eepublican plate is the order sent over the wires. And that's " what's in a name !" At A meeting of the Democratie County Committee on Monday last, Smith Wilbtjr, of this city, was selected to fill the vaoancy ou the county ticket, aused by the convention making nonomination for County Surveyor. Mr. WlLBUR is a young man of good character and industrious habits, is reported a competent surveyor, and if elected will faithfully discharge the duties of the office. Hon. John P. Cook, of Hillsdale, who proved such a thorn in the side of the Republicana at the recent extra session of the Legislature, haa been noruinatcd by the Demócrata and Reformers of the Hillsdale district for aseat in the Tlouse. He accepted the nomination, and if elected will stir up the Republicana of the House in rightlively style. It is pobable that the ' Treasury ring " will unite in ordering his defeat. Hon. Henry Chamberlain , the Democratie candidato for Governor, is on the war-path, and will continue taking Republican scalps up to the day of eleotion. He was at Coldwater on Monday, Hillsdale on Tuesday, and at Adrián on Wednesday, aesailing the enemy in his very strougest holds. Mr. Ciiamberlain is a man of the people, and cannot fail to make friends as he " swings around the circle."
