Michigan Centbal Yakds, ) Monday, üct. 19. The total receipts for the last two weeks were as follows ; For the week ending Oct. 19. Oct. 13. Through State. Thro. State. The market opened briskly and was sustained throughout the day imder a good home and Eastern demand. As each market develops heavy operators are frequenting this market more than any previous season. Cattle were more plentiful in real choice qualities. Beef cattle of very choice qualities coma in from Indiana, it promising to be a good point here to ship to from there. Hogs revived in demand, consignments being eagerly seized at about last week's prices. Qualities continue to iniprove from the State, though lots of that class are fewThe local demand was quite active. Sheep diminished in quantity, but improved in quality there passing the acales under sales to Eastern agents some extra choice lots. Upon the whole the market was quite satisfactory to all interested, and with the increased facilities is destined to become a prominent point for stock operators. Kino's Cattle Yabds, ) Detroit, Monday evoning, Oct. 19. Receipts were liberal and buyers were active in securing best selections, yet prices were frequently shaded l-8c to l-4c. Choice were very scarce, only about one in ten being fit to class with even good butcher's cattle, yet being the best offered are here classed as choice lor the kind. We quote : Choice beeves, shipping steers and heiiers, weighing from 1,200 to 1,600 Ibs $4 OOaö 00 Good butchers' steera and heifers, averagiug 1,000 to 1,100 Ibs. 3 00a3 80 Working oxen, well fatted, averaging 1,000 to 1,500 lbs. . . 3 504 25 Cows, common to choice . . . 3 25a4 00 Stockers' and packers' medium steers and heifers, in decent flesh, 800 to 1,000 lbs. . . 2 50ti3 50 SHEEP. The market has been well filled, and prices are barely steady ; 213, averagiug 70 lbs, sold at Ï2.50 a head. K. Bradley sold 106 Iambs and 61 sheep, the lot averaging 77 lbs, at 4 3-4c. HOGS. There were very few offered. Best lots were saleable at $5.50a$6. One small lot of 16 store hogs sold at f4.75.
