-Jacob Brown, near ant Lake, in Freedom, is one of the large farmers of that township. He has an orchard on his farm consisting of ten acres, and he haa just sold a part of his apples consisting of 195 barrels of Greemngs and Baldwms. He keeps 100 bushels for his own use, has give away 100 bushels and is making 60 barrels of eider. This orchard, as well as the one owned by Chas. Vogel, wa mostly set out by Henry Goodyear. These places being adjacent to the lake, the frosts are not as severe, and by working them well they receivo large quantities of fruit. As in the case of Vogel's orchari, only about one-half the trees are bearing fruit, but at $1.50af 1.75 per barrel, tliey pay well. -
