Hand, of Detroit, offered a resol ution that tbe wearing of long hair or beard on the face, except on the side and under the chin, inasmuch as it largely detracta from the expression of the countenance, and is a great obstruction to the hearing of the speaker by of the congregation whose hearing is impaired, is a gerious drawback which ought to be avoided by pas tors. The rerolution was ruled out by the Moderator, an appeal taken and the matter laid on the table.
