Charles Green, the South Haven horse thief, has been convicted and sent to State Prisou for three years. fm. Green and Pent Flowors, convioted of stealing cattle at Saginaw bas been sentenced to three yeara each in the State Prison at Jackson. John McClellan, convioted of obtaining goods under false pretenses, was sentenood to one year in the State Prison. The managers of the State Poultry Association are already moving in the matter of their next annual exhibition, which is to open on the 14th of January and to continuo 10 days. Young Men's Hall, Detroit, has been secured as the place of the exhibition, and a sufficient number of ante-rooms are at the com mand of the managers to accominodate any number of exhibitors who are likely to put in an apperanoe A bold and successful robbery was cominittod in Detroit on Monday night last. Two men with a hack went to the house of one Eppinger, a furniture dealer, during the absence of the family and almost dismantled the house, carrying off beds, pillows, wearing apparel and $200 in cash. When interfered with by the neighbors, who were attracted by the noise, thoy showed an order frorn Mr. Eppinger and a list of the goods they were to take. When Mr. Eppinger returned home he was ihunderstruck, and at once set out in searuh of the thieves. A frightful case of suicide occurred near Coldwater on Tuesday last, about 11 o'clock in the morning. Mr. L. A. Sears, who wus chopping wood near nis home, heard his boy crying at the houset Thereupon he went to the house and the boy told his father that his mother had gone to the woods. Mr. Sears followed after and found her about twenty rods from the house dead, with her throat out with a razor in a most horrible manner. Eleven gashes severed the windpipe and jtigular vein. Mrs. Sears was twentytwo years old and leaves two small children. No cause can be given for the rash act. The verdict of the coroner's jury was death by her own hand. A case of great interest has occupied the attention of several citizens as well as the medical profession of Adrián the past four or five weeks. A man named Anson Comstock carne here from Cleveland last May. He is 74 years of age, and blind. Soon after he came he complained of a diffioulty and distress of the stomaoh after eating, and soon his distre8s was so great that he dreaded to eat. Thoro was no nourishment he could take but what caused hiin great distress, and for the last two months he has scarcely taken any nourishment whatever, and for 39 days before his death, whioh ocourred yesterday afternoon at 3 o'olock, he had taken uo food whatever. The only thing taken into the stomach during that time was ice. He has been blind 1 1 yoars, aid for the last four years has been in reduced circumstances. He has a wife but no family. At a post mortom examination, which was held last night, the membrane of the stomach was found to be almost entirely gone, supposed to have been caused by exoessive use, formerly, of medioine which he took, of a corrosivo naturo.
