From the Buftalo Advertiser Doe. 28th. That this new thoroughfore between Buffalo and Chicago is destined to bo an attractive one, both for freight. and travel, can be doubted by no one who has recently passed over it. We heard Speaker Blaine pronounce it the finest piece of railway he had ever traveled over in this country. It runs in almost a direct line from the International Bridge in our oity to Amherstburg at the mouth of the Detroit Rivor, a little more than 200 miles. Crossing the river to the Michigan shore, at Trenton, it then extends to Toledo, a distance of 60 miles. At Tronton an nlmoat direct air-line is in the course of oonstruction to Chicago, now finished for about 60 miles westward, and to be completed in the year 1875, when the oonnection between Buffalo and Chicago will be complete at a good many miles shorter distance than by any other linos already in operation. Besides its shorter distance, however, the Canada Sonthern will have many other advantages. The chief araong these are an almost level surftice, the highest grade but 13 f eet to the mile, and the grades seldom occurrmg ; a line almost straight with but few curves, and these hardly discernible in running speed ; steel rails ; a road-bed perfoct in construction and ballasting ; fine bridges of the best construction ; excellent care for the ordinary passenger, as well as the best palace and sleeping cars ; and a rapid transit by its express trains. Tbe country through which it passes, but a few miles from Lake Erie, although most of it new, is fertile and rapidly opening to cultivation. The palace and sleeping cars wore only put upon the road a few days ago, with express trains. When bettor kuown by the traveling public, the Canada Southern must become a popular route, and certainly an added souree of prosperity to the business of Buffalo.
