The Democratie County Convention met at the Court House, Friday, Feb. 11. at 10 A. M.. for the purpose of nnmiuating a candidato tor County Superintendent of Schools, and to cl. i Oelegates to the Democratie State and Judicial Convoutions, and was called to order lv 0. II. Richmond, Chainnan of County Committee. Hou. O. Hawkins was elected temporaiy ohairroan and E. B. Norris, of Manchester, temporary secretary. A committoe on permanent organization and oredentiala was appointed consistinpr ot Messrs. C. H. Bfohntottd, Aun Albor; E. F. Uhl, Ypsilanti; II. Burch, Manchester; E. Haire, Freedom ; H. E. On motion, report of committee was accepted and adopted. ün motion the conveution proceeded to an informal ballot for a candidate for Superintendent of Schools. N. B. Cole and N. Follett bemg appointed tellers. Michael McMahon, of Manchester, having reeeived a majority of all the votes cast on the first informal ballot, was declared unanimously nominated. The convention took a recess for the purpose of allowing the delegates from the several Bepresentative districts to select and report to the convention delegates to the State and dicial conventions. Upon reassembling, the following delegates were reported and elected, FIKST DISTRICT. State- O. Hawkius, E. F. Uhl, E. B. Pond, W. D. Hamman. Judicial- R. E. Frazer, J. Willard Babbitt, W. H. Hawkins, C. H. Richmond. SECOND DISTEICT. State- 3 J. Tuomy, E Haire, E. M. Cole, J. C. Greening. Judicial- Peter Tuite, (i. W. Turnbull, M. Duiïy, John Eyau. THIED DISTEICT. State- J. J. Robison, E. B. Norris, Myron Webb, J. S. Hendersou. Judicial- K. Burch, D. LeBaron, Jesse Warner, F. E. Mills. A motion was adopted, authorizing any delégate unable to attend to appoint a substitute, and on failure to do so the delegation have power to ftll the vacancy. The convention then adjourned sine die.
