Theatrical property appears to be of a very combustible nature to indoe by the number of tlieaters wl├╝ch baveybeen burned down m koudon alone since the coiiuneiu -ement of the present century. In 1809 Urury Lane Theater was destroyed by flie, following the example of Covent darden Theater, wliich met with a l.Ke accident in 1808, and wluch was iigain burned down in 1856. The Lyceum was burned down in 1830. The Surrey Theater has been twice buxned down, once in 1805 and agaia in 18(55. Astley 's, idso, has been the vietim of two conflagrations, being destroyed in 1803 and 1H41. The Olympic feil by fire m the Pavilion, in 1850; the Standaid, Shoreditch, in 1860, and the Ituliau Opera House ifl 1807.
