ing a game of cards at a saloon in Saline, Saturday, two meu, named Kanouse and Ellis, got nito trouble regarding the game and high words ensued. It waa finally propoaed by one of the parties to go outside the village Corporation and fight it out according to the rules of the P. It., which proposition was accepted. The prelimiuary arrangcments being made, the " kuockers " started for the battle-field, accompanied by quite a number of citizeus. A suitable place beiug found near the resideuce of Hon. A. K. Clark, a ring was made, the men stripped for the contest, and the battle commericed. Three rounds were fought, Kanouse winning each. On the third round Elhs was knocked out of time and cried " cave." The bruisers returned to the village in compan y and with better feeliuga toward each other.
