Aniving at tho hen-houae, tlie daughter of Mr. Joselyn opeued tlie door and passed in. Tho little dark girl, : ing to íoilow, waa set upon by the dog, j which bo frightened the Joselya girl that i sho closed the door of the hen-house. ! The 3creims of tho girl at length reached ! the ears of the inmates of tho houso, who carne ruiming to her assisbuice. Wlien they reached the spot, the dog had his teeth fastened in the child's right arm, and was shaking her furiously. Sh was reseued, bnt was liorribly mnngled.
