Oration- Hope of our Repubiic, L. G. Clark. Olla Podrida, Libbie Elum Music. Mr. Mead'a oration was an excellent production, and showed a knowledge of history and a fine appreciation of the subject but seldom attained by studeuts in the High School. The oration by Mr. Clark was a gradiloquent, spread-eagle speech, consistinginostly of highflown figures, and showed very poor taste and little thought. Of the speakers on the debate, Messrs. Seelye and York were the best. The papers were about as good as usual. It would be difficult to say which of the two societies carried off the laurels, and we, thereiore, reserve our opinión. The music was mediocre, and the exercises, as a whole, were too long and monotonoua. Judging from the order maintained during the evening, we think it would be advisable to introduce the study of etiquette both in the High School and Uiiiversity. At Home Ag-ain.
