-A special meeting of the Board of Regents was held at the University Tuesday eveuing aud Wednesday forenoon. There were present Regents Gilbert, Grant, Walker, Estabrook and Ryud. The interests of the homeopathists and dental school were well representad in the meeting. Regent Rynd, of the medical coramittee, made a leugthy report on the practicability of lungtheuing the medical course from six to nme months, and of establishiug a regular grailed course of instruction. The same Regent also presented a plan for the establishment of a Homeopathie College. An iuvitation was then extended to the homeopathie doctors present to make any suggestions they might wish as to the plans submitted. Remarks and suggestions were made by Dr.'s Sawyer, of Monroe, Ellis, of Detroit, and Mechem, of Aun Arbor. Suggestions with regard to the Dental School were made by Dr. Hoiines, of Granu Rapids, and Dr. Thomas, of Detroit. The President and Secretary were directed to execute the lease of a spring on lauda of Emunuel Manu, in behalf of the Regeuts. The hospital comtnittee are ready to submit a plan for the hospital building as soon as the citizens of Arn Arbor vote the additioual S4,0Ü0. Dl'. Douglas aud Secretary Bennett were made a special committee ou t.ie water works. At a 8ession held Wednesdaymorning the report of Regent Ryud on the homeopathie question as submitted the previous eveuiug was adopted without chauge. Aiter October lst, 1875, salaries of the assistaut professors are to be ñxed at $1,800 per year. Regent Grant opposed postponing the establishment of the school of miues ; thought that fuuds could be realized from the app ropriation made by the legislatura to establish the school at once. Au executive session was held, aiter which the Board adjourned.
