The new üreat Grolden Menagerie and Circus of Vin Araburgh & Co., and Frost's Royal Colosseum, will exhibit in Ann Arbor, on Mouüay, May 2h. By that source best qualiñed to judge, the Press, we see that a continual excitement and bustle is occasioued whenever these giants appear. Receutly, at Kalamazoo, this show surprised the inhabitants by its magnitude and spleudor, whereupon the daily Telegraph speaks of it as follows : VAN AMBUE0H & OO'S NEW ENTEBPBISE. "No entertainment so extensivo as Van Amburgh's has visited this city since 1870, and we are glad that. the management of this great euterprise has announced an exhibibition to take place bere at an early day. During the past wmter Van Amburgh & Co. have entirely reñtted their immense show, and ainong the most expensive additions are thirtyfour brau-uew eages. Tbis, however, is only oue new feature, as we have been iuforined that new haruess, new carriages, iiew chariots, uew teiits, uew paraphernalia, anü new trappiugs of every kind have been purchased, and new male and female performers, together with a number of western favoritos have been secured. So, country reader, city reader, reader of every class, if you want to see the old, reliable, simon pure, legitímate, Van Amburgh show, tollow the procession and see the best show we have had since Van Ainüurgh was here five years since." Wheu this company exhibited here in 1871 there was no circus attached, but since then to meet the requirements of the age, Van Amburgh & Co. have added au arenic performance seaond to none in the country, and to give the people an idea of what ït will be before tliey arnve at the tents, mauy of the performers are required to ride in the processiou ou horseback, dressed in their gorgeous costumea, fittingly portraying their ability to the calliug as artista. The menagerie is larger and better than it ever has been before, and to give the reader an idea of its magnitude we quote Van Amburgh's importatious for the past tweuty years. They toot upas follows: 49 Elephauts, 76 Camels, 197 Lions, 38 Eoyal ïigers, 134 Leopards, 88 Spotted and 59 Striped Hyeuas, 224 Antelopes, 17 Ehinoceroses, 21 Bears, 17 Giraffes, 12 Dromedaries, 14 NylGhaus, 44 Gazelles, 27 Indian Goats, 182 Kimgaroos, 51 Porcupines, 2C Tapirs, 19 Zebras, 9 Jaal Goats, 5 Blos-Boks, 2 Adjutants, 1 White Zebra, 1 Addax, 1 Mouflou, 1 Dama Antelope, 1 Double-horned Bhinoceros, and about eleven thousaud smaller animáis, some of them beiug very rare.
