An adjoumed meeting of the (Jouucil was leid Monday evening. Mayor Kinne in the hair. Eoil called, absent Aid. Ferdon, jchmid, Walker, aud Smith. Minutes of laat neeting read and approved. PETITIONS. From Board of Health: relativo to the laughter houses on the banks of the river in ?ith ward, askiug the passage of an ordinance irohibiting the use of the same. Also, from citizens of the Flfth ward : relaive to the samdmatter. On motion both petitions were referred to the 3ity Attorney, with direotions to prepare an rdinanoe, and to report at the next meeting of he Council. EEI'OBTS OF SPECIAL COMMITTEES. Fourth of July Cehbration.- Beoommended he oalhug of a meeting of the citizeus to de;ermine the questiou ; aud that the members f the üouncil will atteud the oelebration, and reader all aid in their power to make the alfair a success. Accepted and adopted. Inspector of Special Election.- Whoe numyf votes cast at special election held May 25th to vote aid for the Uuiversity hospital was f26 : for the tax, 422 ; against the tax, 4. Acsepted and adopted. BESOLUTIONS. Aid. King offered the followiug which was adopted : Resolved, That the City Recorder be, and is directed to draw a warrant to the order of the Treasurer of Michigan Uuiversity, for the sum of 4,ÜÜO, payable on the flrst day of February next, as provided in the vote of the tax-payers electiou, held ou the 25th day of May, 187o. MISCELLANEOUS. City Attorney reported an ordinance for the government and improvement of Fifth ward cemetery, pioviding for the election of Commigsiouers, defluing their duties, &c. After a general discussion, the whole matter was referred to a special committee, consisting of Mayor Kiuue, Aid. King, and City Attorney. Aid. Bishop tendered his resignation as Alderman for Fifth ward. Eesiguatiou accepted. Ad)ourued till next Monday evening.
