The Enterprise says: Jacob Kalambach's boy was kicked by a horse, a few days ago, the shúe-cork striking the little fellow in the right eye, and inflieting a severe wound. Dr. tfïtes was summoued and gave such asistanee thut the lad is doing well. A son of Herman Myer of Sharon was playing in a sand or clay bank, with other children on Saturday last, when the bink caved down upon him covering him over, and there is no doubt he would have been suffocated hud not assistance arrived at once. Dn Thursdny last Mr. Joseph Cobb's sheep congregated on the railroad at the long crossing abont one mile west of Norvell, and a wild traiu ran over them, killiug löandwounded several others.- - - Eftorts are being made by tlie ofRcers of the Presbyterian churoh of this vülage to secure the Rev. M. Edgar of Toledo, aa their pastor for t he coming year. WEHSTEB. The house of Edward Eeeve was entered by thieves on Friday night last, who insured themselves against the awakiug of Mr. and Mis. Reeve by the use of chloroform. About 816 in money was taken, bat uothing else, though silver spoons and other articles of value were within reach. When the fainily retired at night the doors were all closed and locked. Wheñ Mrs. Reeve awoke at an early hour in morning, she detected a strong odor of chloroform in the room, and on arising all the doors of the house were found wide open. It was sooii discovered that the house had been entered and robbed. How the burglars effected an entrance is uot knowu. - Dexter Leader. DEXTEE. The Leader say3 : Mr. E. C. Parker's pony took fright while being uuhitched at the barn ou Suuday, and ran away. As he was passing Blanchard's hotel a youug man jumped off the steps and tned to stop him, but was caught and crowded between one of the thills and the horse, and was carried along for several rods. The pony finally brought up against a tree. The young man was considerably hurt and one thill of the buggy was broken. The common council Beems to be giving especial atteution to village improvemeuts this year. Besides getting the park under way, and finishing the gradiug at the new bridge, good work has been done ou Aun Arbor and Fourth streets, and now C Street is being graded and gravelled. The improvement will be coutinued down to the junction of Ann Arbor street. C street has been a perfect bed ot saud and ueeded gravelhng very much. MII.AN. The hardware store of H. M. Burt was broken iuto Monday night and robbed nf about $50 worth of pocket cutlery, revolvers, &c. No clue has as yet been obtamed oi the thieves. YPSILANTI. Lowell, the ancient Lowell of Michigan, a suburb of Ypsilanti, after being once wiped out of existence with the exceptiou of a single house, is agaiu looking up. The paper milis of Messrs. Cornwell, have revived it. The river has been bridged from the Geddesburgh road, a street laid out, and dwellings are going up. Lowell had a bank in wild-cat times ; but the new Lowell will have a paper foundation of greater solidity now. - Sentinel. The Commercial says : To the delight of many of our citizeus, our woolen miil, which has stood idle so long will soou be in motion. It lías been purchased by Messrs. Hay, Wing & Co., and will in a few weeks present a busiuess-like appearance. The machinery was general ly found to be in good repair. The Superintendent, Mr. Geo. Van Riper, with two assistants, haa been at work a little over a week, and part of the machiuery is running. If they have good luck, all their machinery will be working inside of two weeks. They will first try fine cassiinere, and will then run out stockiug yarn. It is expected that from forty to sixty hands will be employed. Friday about uoon Mr. James Forsyth's horse, which was standing near the depot, hitched to a buggy, became frightened by the cars, and started up Cross Street on a run. On the bridge it collided with a lumber wagon and broke loose trom the buggy. The horse went about two miles further ou the Ann Arbor road. The buggy sustaiued considerable damage. _„_ __
