The comimttees are still at work perfecting arraugemeuts ior 'ne coming celebration of the birthday of our nation, and it promises to be one oi the flnest ever lield iu this región aud evevy way wortliy the day and our city. The coimnittee offers a programme which will be ampie tor the entertainment and enjoyment of all. To begin with, we have UI able and -olished speaker to deliver the oration, wlio will give us something uew and worth hearing. Secondly, live military companies will be here from abroad- compauy (J. of Detroit, coinpany D. of Adrián, compauy E. of Ticumseh, company H. of Ypsilanti, and company E. 2d regiment, ot Btiy City. These companies are all well versed in military tactics, and sorae fine drilling tuay be expectod, in which they will be handsomely aided by company 13. of this city, under command of Colonel W. H. Withiugtou of the lat Regiment. The military feature of the procession will be something grand, aud worth coming miles to see. Third, the Germau Workmgmisn's Society of this city, and the Father Matthew Temperance Society of Detroit, will hold picnics at Belief and Turn Verein parks in the afternoon and evening, at which there will be sports, games and dancing. The Pioneer Society will also hold a basket picnic in the Opera House during the day. Fourth, there will be a grand display of fireworka in the evening, consisting of rare and beautiful triumuhs of pyrotechnical science, such as have uever before been wituessed in this city. These are ouly some of the leadiug features of the day aud its pleasures. The railroads all run trains at half-fare rates, which will bring the trip to our beautiful city fiuancially within the reach of all. We once more extend a hearty invitatiou to our ueighbors, far and near, to come and join with us in celebrating and enjoying the 99th anniversary of the birth of our Republic, and we are sure that nothing will be left undone that will tend to their full pleasure aud enjoyment.
