of the 6th, in noticing the various Delebrations throughout the State, pays this compliment to Ann Arbor : " The celebration at Ann Arbor yesteniay ranked among the most extensive in the State, and called together a crowd of probably 10,000 people irom outside the city, who, joining with the towns-people, fllled the city to overnowïug. All the freight trains on the Central between Jackson junction and Detroit were hauled off, and extra passenger trains added. And yet, with every available coach in use, the railroad company was unable to carry all who desired to visit Aun Arbor and Jackson. Ann Arbor, ever a pretty place, looked its best yesterday, and a stranger steppiug into the city could not fail to become iinpressed with the idea that the management had been in the hands of gentlemen who knew just what to do, and did ït. The decorations were profuse. The boys left Ann Arbor at 2:42 this morning and arrived heme at eight, well pleased with their trip, and feeling that they had been entertained as cordially and hospitably as posible could be. They were providod with lunch, dinner, supper, and bed by Company B, which, by the way, is coroposed of men than whom a more genial, courtèous, and hospitable set never lived. The Peniusulars entertain for thom the highest respect, and feel desirous of soon having the privilege of returniug the favors so geuerously bestowed." ___„
