Domestic Markets. Financial affairs are without noticeuble change. Gold at a fraction below 117. There have been no commercial failures of note during the week. Up to the close of last week there was a decline on wheat in New York of 2@3c, but this was recovered the first part of the present week, with a somewhat stronger market under an improved export deiuand. Winter red western is quoted at $1.15(at 1.40; amber western $1.18@1.42; white western at $l,36@1.50. Thd wide range ia owing to the old and new being quote together. Extra choice old Michigan at $1.65. 8o Michigan farmers who have this grade on hand will underatand that it is worth the money. The September review of the corn erop by the Department of Agriculture at Washington is favojable for that erbp. The damage by water in the low lands of the southwest ia not as inueh aa was thought, while the erop on the higher lands has been greBtly beneflted by the same causes that have been disastrous elsewhere. The erop is generally two weeks late, butif it can he wcll gathered without damage by frost before matuirty its aggregate will exceed that of any other year. The highest averaga by States Is Tennessee, 11 4,and the lowest Wisconsin, 60 per cent. Detroit market. The history of the grain market has been about the same as at the east, while heavy stocks seem to depress prices. Since Saturday however, the tendency has been upward' and prices are equal to last report. Extra white at $1 37 ; No. 1 at $1 24 1 25; amber, $1 28. Corn, nominal at 67c. Oats' weak at 36@37c for mixed, and 42c for white, Applea, a shade better, under improved demand, at $2J2o(a,2 75 per bbl.
