A. by the Regeuts on Friday. Miss Hamliu is at present teaching in the High School at Detroit. Hon. Wru. P. Wells, of Detroit, was elected by the Regente, ou Friday, to fill the vacancy again in the law department created by the absence of C. I. Walker. Francis H. Wiseweil, M. D., of Roudout, Nï., of the class of '71, was granted a uew diplouia by the Regeuta at their last sessiou. Fire destroyed his old oue. A gaine of base ball between the Senior and Junior laws on Tuesday afternoon resulted at the end of the ninth muings in a tie. The score was 26 ior'each party. The editors for the Oracle this year are : George Hurrower, A. C. Angelí, Geo. F. Foster, S. D. Walliug, H. B. Wamsley, Geo. W. Knight, Annie Peck, and Cora I. Towusend. Dr. Macleau removed a large tumor from the neck of a boy frora Geuesee couuty, last Saturday, which was dangerously near the carotid artery. The shock was too great for the boy's system and he died Sunday night. Dr. Cocker lately received an invitation from the authonties at Cornell Üniversity to deliver two sermons in the course to be given before the Faculty and the students of that iustitution. He declined on account of poor health. The officera of the Senior Lyceum of the medical departmeut are: President, J. W. Morton, A. M.; Vice-President, J. M. Lewis, B. A.; Secretary, H. H. White; Treasurer, A. X. Campbell. Thi lyceum meets ou Friday evenings. The Juniors of the medical department have a lyceum whioh meets ou Wednesday evenings. The tollowing are the ofticers : President, J. E. Clark ; Vice-President, J. A. Wright; Secretary, J.F. Currey; Treasurer, H. B. Halstead. At the Students' Scientifie Society on Saturday, papers were read by Bryaut Walker, of '76, on the Mollusks of Roscommon county, and by J. A. Watterson, of '7b', on Bone. A numlier ot specimens of mollusks were presented to the society by different members. The Senior class of the Law Department attempted to elect their officers on Friday last but differences of opinión started a breeze, this raised a storm and diré confusión prevailed. They ftnally separated, utterly disgusted with one another, without selecting their leaders. Rev. Mr. Trowbridge appoared before a large audieuce in üniversity Hall on Suuday night, under the auspices of the Students' Christian Association, and talked quite entertainingly for au hour. He is in this country looking ifter aid in the building of a college for the Armenians at Aintab, Turkey. The Students' Lecturo Association came out Í772 72 ahead last year. $562 72 was received from the former treasurer, leaving a profit for the year of $210. The largest amount of mouey paid for any one entertainment was $334 00, that oue being the Richiugs-Bernard concert. The smallest amount was paid to W. H. Milburn, $66. The Sophcmores elected the following officers ou Saturday : President, H. B. Wamsley ; Vice President, A. C. Angelí ; Secretary, Franklin Garrison ; Treasurer, J. J. Reed ; Poet, oreorgo Horton; Orator, C. M. Daugherty ; Historian, S. D. Walling; Seer, Walter W. Augur ; Toastmaster, H. W. Judd ; Chaplaiu, Clareuce ü. Arey. The first uumber of the Chronicle has made its appearance. It is printed ou white paper, uot tmted aa heretofore, and it comes to the reader with leaves ready cut and trimmed. We think the Board of editors might have shown a more determined spirit in their attempts to better the character of the articles it shall contain than is expressed in the editorial. Contributors will quite naturally folio w the ruad zuarked out by the managers or atteinpt to at least. The department of " Personáis" is a great improvement.
