There haH been considerable intereót shown ' in wheat and corn, bilt for the other grains a comparatively quiet feeling prevailed, the amonnt of business transacted being considerably blow the average. For spring wheat the demand from the opening initil the close has been quito active and a steady improvement in valúen was noticed, the cloaing quotationn showing an advance of from 4c to 4)c per bu, heiug mainly on the short futures, tho demand from speculators who had not covered their maturing contracts boing quite active. At the same time there was a good shipping and export demand, and Eastern advices were of a favorable tenor. Corn opened firm and higher, but doses lower nuder iucreased receipts, while oata sympathized with the changea in corn. Kye was flrm and a trine higher, but barley was weak and lower under increased receipts. The movement was principally on specnlative account. Broom corn dull and prices weak. beveral good lots of new were sold at 6@7e. Beeswax was quiet at 2G@28c. There was a fair local and shipping demand for cheese. Quotable at 5@8c for inferior, 9@10Lc for common to good, and 1134@12c for prime. Choice sweet eider was in fair demand and steady at $6.50@7.00 per brl, and $3.00@3.75 in kegs. Cranberries ín light deïnand at L7.50@8.50 per brl for good Wisconsin, and jil0.50@ll.50 for choice largo cultivated ; one-bu boxes sold at $3.00(ó;3.50. There was 110 demand for dried peas, and sales were slow at $1.50@1.60 for choice green, and 95c per bu for yelïow dried. Eggs closed at 21c in carriers and about 20c in loose packages. Prime live geese feathers were in fair demand and steady at 58@60c ; tho other kinds ruied dull. Game was in better supply and easier. Prairie chickens sold at $4.00 per doz ; mallard ducks at ï'2.75@3.00 ; small at $1.50@1.75, and snipe and plover at I $1.00. The hop market remains very dull, but ! prices were without change; quotable at 4@10c per brl for poor to good and 11 @13c for prime. Honey was in fair request when in the comb at 23@?4e but strained was dull at 10@12c per 1b. There was a fair demand for hides; and eales were made at Bc for green salted, 6Jfc for damaged, and 13c for calf. Potatoes were in 1 better demand and prices were a shade flrmer, quotable at 30@40c per bu for peachblows. Sweet jjotatoes, however, remain dull and slow of sale ; yellow Illmoia 2.00@2.25 per brl, and Jerseys $3.00@3.25. There was a iair demand for ealt, and a fair business was reported at f 1.50 for Onondaga and Saginaw fine, and $1.70 for ordinaiy coarse. Wool was in fair demand, and steady at 38@40c for washed, and 28@32c for nnwashed. SEEDS AND HIOHWIKEK. There was a fair demand for prime timothy, and prices, under light offerings, were steady at $2.20@2.25. There was a good deal of common offered, however, and this was slow at $1.85(5)2.10. There was a f air demand for highwines and the markec closed steady at a slight decline. The market closed at $1.18L. THOVISIONS. In this market there was a slight increase in the amount of business transacted, but prices were rather irregular. The stocks were larger than was generally anticipated and this had a tendency to increaae the offerings. Mess pork was about 40@45c lower, but was rather steady toward tho close. Lard was quiet but flrm. COOPEKAGE, LUMBhlt ANB WOOD. Quotations for cooperage range at 1.10@ 1.15 for pork barrels and sl.30()1.40 for lard tierees; .f 1.90@2.10 for whisky barrels, and 45 @55c for nour baxrels. Liimber, owing to light offerings, wan quiet but firm. Values were noiuinally flrm at f8.25 for ioist and Bcantling, and' $8.50(314.50 for strips and boardi. Shingles, f2-.10@S.OO.
