Jack Campbell, a famoua negro, has j just died at Madison, Ga., aged 80years. His reputation as a broad humorist extended throughout the State of Georgia, and lasted for many years. He was a slave owned by an iim-keoper in Madison, and brought great prospeiïty to the establishment with whioh he was connected. His name appears in the "Statistis of Georgia" and "Major Jone' Courtship," and many of his jokes and witty siiyings have uppeared in the publiofttions of the Harpers. It is reported that at one time Barnum offered the ownet of Jack the gum of $10,000 for him.
