Aocording to a report by Prof. Gintl, t appears that the public ia exposed to a new source of poisoning from the use or arsenical glyoerine and the arseniate of almnina as mordants. He states that ;hese substances are now coming largely mto uso.especially amongthe Englishand Alsatian mtuuiacturers of cotton printed goods, as substitutes for albumen, wliich is more exponsive, some substances beirig required to flx especially the aniline colors, which are now ao much in deninnd. Such goods have recently been sold in Austria, and especially in Prague, containing, according to Prof. Gintl, as much as fiftoen to twenty-flve graina of axsenious acid, in the form of arseniate of alumina, to the yard ; and this is by no means an insoluble salt, but one more poisonous than the much abused green arsenic colors. The more suspicious fabrics are stated to be thoso cf a violet ground with Tvhite figures, and those printed in brownish yellow or reddish brown designs, and which are sold at low prices.
