In a colored church in Augusta, Georgia, a novel cerera ony, called, "Marchig out of Egypt," has been introduced. 'he worshíppers meet about nine o'cloek t night, and, amid solemn chanting, narch around in a circle hour after íour. Those who hold out at this treadmill sort of performance until flaybreak iré considered the chosen ones, and desned for heaven, while thoae who f all by ie wayside from weakness of the flesh, if not the spirit, are not in a state of grace. A gentleman living in the city was jrprised one morning at perceiving that [though it was seven o'cloek, no preparations were being made for breakast, and the cook was not visible. Imagining all sort of things, that Dina was defunct, or had fled to other regions, he opened her room door and found her lying asleep, "like some marble (black) statue seen in Europe. " After much shouting he suoceeded in rousing her, and asked her" -what she meant by sleeping so late.
