Six years ago Mrs. Mary Ahart, say the Laramie S'entinel, was liviug in , little tent on the edge of the town. Her whole worldly possessions consisted of this tent, a straw bed, two or three boxes which served as chaira and table, a seven or eightyear oldgirl and two cows and calves. She sold the spare milk of these two cows, carrying it aronnd town in a tin paĆ¼, and from the product and from work which she did for the neighbors supported herself and child. When she could get three or five dollars ahead she would buy aaiother calf or yearIing. It is not our purpose to trace her prosress up to the present time minutely, but the result is, she now, in iess than seven years, has several hundred head of cattle, a fine farm with nice buildings and improvements, a comfortable, even luxurious, home - and, instead of carry ing milk aronnd by hand, rides in her own carrkge. Her daughter is a young lady, educated and accomplished. Today Mrs. Ahart's property is valued at from $40,000 to $50,000. And she bas made it all by honest industry and gooi] management. She has had no outside help. She never had a government contract or feil heir to any property,
