The causes of the decay of the teeth are two - aciis and minute fimgus abundantly found in the inouth, anc oalled "leptothrix bucoalis." All acid both vegetable and mineral, act promptly on the teeth by dissolving the ename and by softening the dentine. Sour f'rui'u and vinegar salada are likely to injure the teeth, unless the mouth is carefully washed out after eating thum The little parasitic fungus can only be removed by alkaline mixtures. Soap is one of the best dentrifices. It appears that the parasites grow and multiply very rapidly, and especially between the teeth. It would be advisable, therefore tor those who wish to preserve gooc teeth to caretully use the tootbpick anc 8erub the teeth with soap and water after every meal, or at least twicu a day. CAKE OS THE NAILS. The correct management of the nails is to cut them of an oval shape, correspondiug with the shape of the fingerg Never allow them to grow too long, as it malees it ditfícult to keep tbem clean nor too short, as it causes the tips of the fingers to becomo flattened and en largo and turn upward, which gives the hand an awkward appearance. The skin which grows in a setnicirule on the top of the nail requires much attention, as it is often drawn on with its growth, dragging the skin below the nail so tight as to causo it to divide into what are terined agnails. This is to be prevented by separating the skin froin the nail by a blunt, half-oircular instrument. Many persons cut this pellicle or thin kin, which causes it to grow very thick and uneven, and somotimen daniages the growth of the nail. CAKE 0Y TIÍE HAIR. To keep tho hair healthy, keep the head clean. Brush the scalp well with a stiff brasil while dry. Tlien wash with Castile soap, and rubinto the roots bay rum, brandy or camphor water TnU done twice a tnonth will prove beneficial. Brush tho scalp thoroughly ■twice a week. Dampen the hair with soft water at the toilet, and do not use oil. FLESHW0RM8 AND PIMPLES. Try this receipt : Wash the face twice a day in warm water and rub dry with a coarse towel. Thou with a soit towel rub in a lotion made of two ounces of white brandy, oiib ounce of cologne and one-half onnee of liquor pottassa. Persons subject to skin eruptions should avoid very salt or fat food. A dose of Kpsom salts oocasionally might prove beneticial.
