rhe Pontiac Qazette says : In looking over the Oakland Chronicle of 1830 wo find the following record: " Nov. 2üth - The weather continúen moderate ; 110 snow ; no cold rains. Pumpkin vincs in blossom umi young pumpkins, six inches in diameter, grow, and sulad, oabbage, radishes, and buats half grown, Becond erop ; ütrawlierries ripe and groen " And again : " The weather continuos moderate. We httve had oomiideroble rain. Thursday, Deo. lst - Thunder and rain. Thnrsday, Dec. 'd - still moderate and olear." And, on Deo, LOth, tbe same author says; " Winter lias oonamsneed very nioderatoly. On .Momííiy Énorering we had a light snow. Tuesday night we had white frost. The Weathef i.s stiil plasant. We have no high winds of consequence." The wiuter of 18.'iO and 1H;51 can be considered noarly a counterpart of 1875 and ].H7i), and we havo seeu no record of another such a winter sinco 1830
