Chatterton, a farmer, living about one mile west of here, went out to the barn to milk, taking with him a kerosene lantern. Shortly after he went out the barn was discovered to be on fire. People that saw the fira rushed to the place, but whea they got there the barn was nearly all burned down, and Mr. Chatterton's remainB were found with his head and faat terribly hurned. He had been dead some tune. The supposition is that Mr. Chatterton had a fit, as he was subject to thom, and knocked over the lamp which set the barn on fire. One horse, tliree cows and a calf alao were burned, besides a lot of gram. The accident has cast a gloom over the entire town, as Mr. Chatterton was one of our best citizens and highly esteemed by all.
