The Free Prett furnishea the followng description of the Michigan buildng to be erected uu the ceutenaial jrounds at Philadelphia : The lot selected by the State oenteuial commigsion whereon to ereot the Iichigan building at Philadelphia, has front of 100 feet on State avenue, and 80 feet deep. Juat eaet of it is the Visconsin lot, and on the west side is tie lot selected by New York. It is ocated about a thouHand feet north of nd facing the exposition building, with the agricultural building to the northeast, wbile the headquarters f the officials of the United itates and Great Britain are a short disance to the southeast. A better locaion could hardly be secured, being at ,he junction of the two main thorough'ares of the exposition grounds and in lose proximity to all the principal uilding8. The building, in which will be the ïeadquarters of the Gorernor and State centennial comniissioners, will be oontructed after plans and specifications repared by Julhis Hess, of this city. Che ground plan shows an area about 50x60 feet in size, foundation is to be of stone, with exterior facing above round of Lake Superior sandstone. The interior of the building will be constructed of varioua woods native of Michigan, left in their natural color and highly polished. The oeiling and walls will be laid in panels of variouK patterns, and floors will be laid of thin woods of variegated patterns and shades. The architraves of all doors and windows will beelaborately carved ; the wainscoting ia the reception room is to be of boautifully colored and higbly polished gypsum from the quarries at Grand Rapids ; that in the governor's office is to be of artificial marble from the manutactory at Port Huron, while the sanie iustitution will furniah a tnantle for the reception room, constructed of the same material, with a heavy píate glass mirror above it. The rooms upon the seoond floor will be furnishec similarly to those above described, with the exception of the wainscoting. The furniture of the building will be of the uiogt elabórate description, fur nished by manufacturen in diffbren parts of the State, while the walls wil display a few specimens of Michigan soenery by Michigan landscape paint
