Here is another way to prevent water from gettiug through the shoes. The composition also makes a good harneas dressing. Take neatsfoot oil, oue and onehalf piuts; beeswax, one ounce; Bpirits of turpentine, four ounces; and stir until cold. Spread and rub this composition over the leather while it is damp; leather will absorb oil and grease better when damp than when dry. For the solee, take pine tar and rub it in before the ftre until tlie soles will abscrb no more. Three or four applications will be needed. The durability of the soles will be much increased. If this preparation will do what is claimed, it will be invalnable to miners, who are compolled k suffer from wet feet, or endure the almost eqnal danger and inconvenience from the constant use of rubber boots in wet weather.
