The movement by Senator Gordon on Thursdayto secura by genuino civil service reform a more honest aud efficiënt oollection of the revenue will be followed up by a similar movement in the House. The attacks made upon Souator Gordon, ; cially by Mr. Morton and Sherman, and i the efl'ort to divort attention from this j important questiou by drawing it into partisan discussion, shows how little , support can be oxpected for any such reform among the leading Kcpubliams of the Secato. The inots on which Senator : Gordou's argument was baped, and th conclusions which ho drew, woro simply unanswerable, aiui no Republican attèm'pléd to reply la thom. xhtj subjects introduced by Mr. Morton and Mr. lamí had nothing whatever to do witb the question as presentod by Mr. Gordon, aud they faited to produce the desired result. Already Senator Qordon has received a great uumbcr of letters froim persona who have been driven out of the business of ditilling by the dishonesty of revenue officials and manufacturera of " orookod " vliisky, and he will certainly have tilo suppWt of eVery firenuino Civil service reforiner in tho country.-
