Railway Accidents In Germany
The statisücal office of the Germán railway li'ies lias published the returns of the accidents which happened duriug the year 1875 on all the Germán railways except the Bavarian lines. There were 755 runnings oft' the rails and collisions of trains outside, and 1,876 runniags off tho rails and collisiona inside the stations, and 1,250 accidents of divers natures by which the regular service was interrupted. These accidents have caused tlie loss of the lives of 509 persons; 1,545 persons were lniri. The proporticn of accidents to the number of passenger trains was 1 to 5,394, end to that of freight trains 1 to 1,290.
