If I büouM die to-uigh.t( Mf frieods would cali to mind, withlovinpthoiight, 8ome kitidly deed the icy hand had wrought, Some gentle word the frozen lipB had Raid ; Errands on which the willing feet had sped - The memory of my selfishnesH and pride, My hawty words would aH be put aside. And so I Bhould be loyed and mourncd to-night. If I ehould dio to-night. Even hearfcH estranged wouM turn once more to me, BecalUng other days remorsef nlly. The eys that chili mo with avorted glance, Would look upon mo as of yore, perchance, And Boften in th oíd familiar way, Tot wfao would war with diuub, unconscioue clay ! So I might rest, f orgiven of all to-nlght. Oh, friendo, I pray to-night, Keep not your kisses for my dead, cold brow. The way is lonely ; Iet me feel tbem now.
