The last now8 received from Iccland reporta tliat the conriguration of the mountuinous part of the north of the island, which some timo ago was visited by the liuglish geologist, Mr. Watts, has beeu eutirely changed during the winter through voicanic ageucy, sorae parts haviug bodily sunk sevcral huudred fett, producing at ouo place a largc lako containing boiling water, and surrounded l)y several new goysers, which found an outlet through soveral small rivers running in to tho lake. The entiro snrrounding country was sufforing from the völeaüic action Btill in process, tho earth shaking, sulphurous vapors escaping, and loud noises like distant thundor being continually observed ; a i'reeli cráter having also beeu observod, calculatecl roughly at about twg miles in diameter,
