He is a lawyer who, for professional shrewdness, ranked high at Metnphis. He was born in Terre Haute, Ind. His principal practioe in Momphis was pushing false bounty claims against the Government, and tliis he did very successfully. He was at length detected and sentenced in Memphis last January on three charges for flve years oach. It is said that there were 2,500 oaeOP agaiust jbim.- Naahville American.
